Family All Size Clothing Swap – Men, Women and Kids! Beaverton, December 2nd 2018

Family All Size Clothing Swap! Bring your whole family – Everyone’s invited – men, women, teens, kids, babies!
When:   Sunday December 2nd, 7pm
Where: Adapt Training 9923 SW Arctic Drive, Beaverton Oregon 97005.

Men, Women, Teens, and Kids can bring your gently used-in-excellent condition clothes, shoes, and accessories, and go home with new items you can use!  This event is FREE and open to the public. All sizes, ages, and families are welcome.  So that you know what to expect, and so it’s fun for everyone, please read our  Free Swap rules.

By coming to Free Swaps, you agree to the following Free Swap Rules:

1. Only bring clean items in good condition

2. Do not take anything before the swap coordinator says “go”.  

3. Be kind and generous to other swappers and the swap coordinators. Don’t take stuff you will not personally use or give as gifts.

4. You agree that you WILL NOT SELL ANYTHING that you received at any Free Swap(s). 

5. Free Swaps are UNIQUE! If you attend Free Swaps you are agreeing to abide by the Free Swap Mission/goals. If you feel the above rules are unreasonable, do not attend.

What a great way to declutter your closets AND refresh the whole families’ wardrobe all at the same time!

Our swap is FREE, with no admission charge, no strings attached, and all remainders will be given away for free or to organizations that will not sell them but will give them away.  This swap meets every other month (usually on the first Sunday February, April, June, August, October, December)

December 2018 Free Swaps

Happy Holidays! Here’s the free swaps we know about so far for the month of December, 2018.  We’ve got one family all-size clothing swap for men women and kids, two all-size women’s clothing and stuff swaps, a women’s small/medium clothing swap, a clothing/gift swap/snack potluck/celebration for Mom’s, and a Holiday Gift and Toy swap (RSVP’s are full and has a waiting list for the gift and toy swap):

12/01/18  Women’s and Teens All Size Clothing and Small Household Stuff Swap 6pm at the Rushing Water Yoga Studio in Downtown Camas WA.  This is All Size Women’s swap, so please pre-sort your clothes so they can be separated into piles small, medium, large, plus, and accessories. Also small household items. Takes place the first Saturday of the month September through June (No swaps July and August).  Please RSVP to Dorothy at  clarkcountyclothingswap@gmail.com

12/08/18 Holiday Gift and Toy Swap in NE Portland at the Evergreen Community Church. This swap is currently full.

12/16/18 Mom’s Clothing and Gift Swap, Celebration and Potluck. A Holiday celebration for Moms that includes Potluck finger food snacks, music, raffle prizes, free clothing and gift swap, and fun!  St. Peter and Paul Church, 247 SE 82nd Ave, Portland, OR 97215. Sunday December 16th 4pm-8pm, but can arrive after 3pm to set up your donations of snacks, swap items, mingle etc. RSVP how many you are bringing by text to 971-401-7899 or join the Portland Mama’s Free Items Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/1591662991055495/ and click ‘going’. This event is focused on Mom’s, but if you need to bring kids please be responsible for them.

12/21/18  Women’s Size Petite to Medium (approx 0-8)  Clothing Swap at People’s Food Co-op in SE Portland at 7pm.  Everyone who attends, please bring an extra bag for remainder donation.  Monthly on the third Friday.  If you’ve got other sizes, please take them to the correct swap for those sizes.  If they are torn/ripped, please offer them on freecycle.org. 12/28/18 Women’s All Size Clothing and Stuff Swap in Happy Valley, 7pm at New Seasons Market, 15861 SE Happy Valley Town Center, Happy Valley, OR 97086, the New Seasons market on Sunnyside in the yoga studio/conference room. The last Friday of the month.  You can bring not only clothes but shoes and accessories and any other goodies that you want to pass on (such as books, jewelry, lotions, makeup, pens, arts and crafts and etc). If you know of a good organization that can use the leftover clothes or if you can take it with you please let me know. To RSVP (reserve your spot) contact Tanya at  Happyswap@hotmail.com

 

Family Clothing Swap (men/women/kids), Sherwood, November 10th

Family Clothing Swap for Men, Women, and Kids At Countryside Community Church, 18810 S.W. Kruger Road, Sherwood. Saturday, Nov. 10th @ 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Doors open at 9:45.

Bring any gently worn clothing items to exchange that you or your loved ones no longer wear. Beginning at 10 a.m. everyone will be released to rummage through all the clothing (there will be children’s, men’s and women’s categories) and take whatever they would like.

All of the leftover clothing at the end of the hour will be donated to local non-profit organizations to help clothe others in the surrounding communities as well as our own. This is a great way to share resources with others in our community, especially children’s clothing as children grow in and out of clothing so quickly, and it’s a great way to get some shopping in for yourself without having to spend a penny! Hi Peeps – we’ve got a lot to be thankful for this month! Here’s the free swaps we know about so far for November 2018. We’ve got TWO family clothing swaps this month that include all sizes of mens/women’s/children’s/baby clothes, TWO all-size women’s clothing swaps, we’ve got a few small/medium women’s clothing swaps, a swap that includes books, and 2 swaps that include household stuff. 11/11/18 Family Clothing and Footwear Swap AND BOOKS! (N Portland), Quarterly on a Sunday, 2-4pm at the Kenton Church 2115 N Lombard street Portland OR 97217, in the basement. Everyone is welcome. All sizes of Men’s, Women’s, and Children’s clothing will be exchanged, as well as books. No donation is required in order to receive. Maternity and Baby & Grade School Kids clothing, accessories books/games swap! NW Portland, October 13th

Maternity and baby-kids swap – clothing and accessories, toys, books, games swap!  (ONLY MATERNITY -No regular women’s clothing please)

Clean out your maternity and kids closets and the toy shelf!!! Purge what you no longer need!!! (Please read below for details)

Saturday October 13th, 2-3pm at the PCC Rock Creek Campus, 17705 NW Springville Rd, Portland OR 97229

This event will be at PCC Rock Creek in the Event Center in Building 9.

Please bring things to swap AND/OR one or more non-perishable food items (to go to a food pantry) as your “entry ticket”. Of course, nobody will be turned away.

You may arrive as early as 1:40pm to set things out. However, WE ASK THAT ONCE YOU HAVE PLACED YOUR ITEMS, STEP OUT OF THE ROOM UNTIL 2PM. We want everyone to have a fair chance at getting whatever comes and getting some nice things. You will NOT be allowed to create a stack of new finds prior to 2pm.

VOLUNTEERS WILL BE NEEDED TO:
1) Help direct people as they come in and place items of those who come at the last minute. (These should be people who are there to give more than to receive items).
2) Pack up the left overs for donation (3-4pm)
3) Take a load for donation.

Here are the details on what you can bring:

Bring gently-used gear and clothes: maternity and sizes premie up to size 10.
Items may include (but not limited to):
clothing
socks and tights
shoes
coats, hats, sunglasses and other accessories
cloth diapers and diaper covers or unused disposables that no longer fit your baby
maternity clothing, nursing bras (NO REGULAR WOMEN’S CLOTHES)
baby gear (blankets, strollers, carriers, slings, baby care items, legal carseats and furniture, etc.)
mama gear (nursing pillows, pumps, etc.)
toys
books (both for baby and parenting books)
games

It helps to sort your clothing beforehand in these categories:

Transgender and Queer Clothing Swap, SW Portland, October 13th

Start spreading the word! The more fabulous folks who come, the more fabulous fashion there will be to swap!

The 5th Quarterly-ish PDX Trans and Queer swap will take place during LGBTQIA+ History Month, just two days after National Coming Out Day!

Q Center has been such an incredibly generous partner and support for our four swaps to date and we hope to continue that wonderful collaboration with other types of events that are in the works at Transcend. We’re excited to hold our 5th quarterly(-ish) PDX Trans & Queer Clothing Swap at Portland State University. Stellar transit access and an accessible space in the same building as the Queer Resource Center and Disability Resource Center. Thank you to the QRC team at PSU for offering us this opportunity and collaborating with us on this!
