The 6th PDX Trans & Queer Clothing Swap is at our original home — Q Center! We may either alternate between Q Center and PSU, or have events at both locations to serve more of our communities.

March 2019 Free Swaps

Welcome! Here’s the free swaps we know about so far for March 2019.  Time to ‘Marie-Kondo’ your closets to find goodies to bring, and enjoy treasure-hunting with like-minded kind thrifty people!  Everyone who attends agrees they’ll bring clean items in usable condition, be kind to others at the swap, only take what they will personally use or give as gifts, and not sell anything they get.  Since all remainders are picked up by charities that GIVE them away, everyone who participates is a philanthropist!  Thanks for being a part of the free frugal fun!  If you don’t see a swap in your size/interest/or area of town, please start one !

03/02/19  Women’s and Teens All Size Clothing and Small Household Stuff Swap 6pm at the Rushing Water Yoga Studio in Downtown Camas WA.  This is now an All Size swap, so please pre-sort your clothes so they can be separated into piles small, medium, large, plus, and accessories. 03/10/19 All Size Mens, Women’s and Kids Clothing and Book Swap, Kenton Church, 2115 N Lombard St, Portland, OR 97217, 2pm-4pm. https://freeclothingexchange.org/ EXCHANGE DETAILS Receiving Clothing: No donation is required to receive clothing. Please take clothing for your own household only, Clothing may not be taken for resale.  Donating Clothing: Do not drop off clothes ahead of time or try to leave them at Kenton Church.  Donations will only be accepted during the hours of the exchange. Please sort and hang your own donations. Volunteers are available to help you sort and hang your donations. Place donations on racks by size. Please…no dirty or damaged donations. The best things about the Free Clothing Exchange: The Discovery. That moment when you find the thing you didn’t know you were looking for and it fits you. In JAN, more folks brought and engaged with the book area then I’ve seen in the past and, with so many new books for adults coming in, I saw as many grown ups as I did children checking out books.

03/15/19  Women’s Size Petite to Medium (approx 0-8)  Clothing Swap at People’s Food Co-op in SE Portland at 7pm.  Everyone who attends, please bring an extra bag for remainder donation.  Monthly on the third Friday.  If you’ve got other sizes, please take them to the correct swap for those sizes.  If they are torn/ripped, please offer them on freecycle.org. *NEW 03/16/19 Kids and Adults Clothing Swap, 10am-1pm,  Clatskanie High  471 Bel Air Dr, Clatskanie, OR 97016.  Gather all of your used family clothing and accessories in bags from home and bring to the swap.  If you don’t want to use a reusable bag our event will be selling bags by donation. All proceeds from donations for bags will be given to Clatskanie’s local thrift store Turning Point. Any clothing that hasn’t found a home will be given to Clatskanie highs sharing shed. A place where children and families can get the resources they need.

03/16/19 2nd Annual Wasco County Seed Exchange, 12-2pm, Wasco County Master Gardeners, 400 East Scenic Drive, Ste 2,  The Dalles, OR 97058. Join us for the 2nd Annual Wasco County Seed Exchange! Come by to pick up seeds for your 2019 garden, and bring any seeds you have saved from last year (don’t worry if you don’t have any – we have plenty!). 03/16/19 Plant and Seed Swap, 1pm-3pm at the Garden Home Community Library 7306 Southwest Oleson Road Portland, OR, 97223.  Get ready for gardening season by meeting fellow gardeners and get some plants and seeds for your garden. Please bring ready-to-grow plants. House and indoor plant starts are welcome too. Avoid wilted, newly dug, bare root, pest-ridden, and dormant bulbs. 03/24/19 Women’s Large Clothing Swap (approximately size 14-1X) Please bring clothes in good condition (no rips or stains) and accessories such as jewelry, shoes, hats, belts, purses. Please bring extra bags to help haul out the left overs. Every 4th Sunday in People’s Food Co-op community room. Address: 3029 SE 21st ave Portland Arrive a few minutes early to start swapping at 7 pm. Rules: Bring clean clothes in good condition, size 12 and up. (There is a small size swap on the 3rd Friday at the same location) Do not take anything until the swap coordinator says GO Be kind and courteous! Do not sell the things you get at the swap. Please bring extra bags Bring a mirror if you have one! Please also consider volunteering! I need help bagging up left overs at the end and carrying them to my car. Bring your whole family!   Our swap is FREE, with no admission charge, no strings attached, and all remainders will be given away for free or to organizations that will not sell them but will give them away. 04/14/18 Spring Stuff Swap in NE Portland at the Evergreen Community Church. Kind men, women, and teens invited to bring in-good-condition ‘stuff’…and find new treasures for personal use or to give as gifts.  Household items, toys and games, books and music, tech and garden, antiques and collectables, crafting items, and more. 04/28/18 All Age All Gender Clothing Exchange — At Countryside Community Church, 18810 S.W. Kruger Road, Sherwood. Countryside Community Church will be hosting a FREE Clothing Exchange on Saturday, April 28 @ 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Doors open at 9:45. Bring any gently worn clothing items to exchange that you or your loved ones no longer wear. Beginning at 10 a.m. everyone will be released to rummage through all the clothing (there will be children’s, men’s and women’s categories) and take whatever they would like. All of the leftover clothing at the end of the hour will be donated to local non-profit organizations to help clothe others in the surrounding communities as well as our own. This is a great way to share resources with others in our community, especially children’s clothing as children grow in and out of clothing so quickly, and it’s a great way to get some shopping in for yourself without having to spend a penny! October Swaps 2017

Hi swappers!  It’s officially fall, so you may be going through your cool weather clothes and accessories and realizing some things don’t fit or just aren’t ‘you’ anymore.  Wash them up and swap them for new-to-you clothes you love!  This month we’ve got all-sized clothes for the whole family (men, women, kids) including footwear, a few sized swaps, a community potluck, transgender/queer clothing and accessories swap, and a women’s all-size clothing and stuff swap.  Since this is October, feel free to look for items that might work as costumes – clothing swaps are a great place for free frugal fun!
