Clothes Sharing FAQs

Q.
What do I have to bring?
A.
Just yourself!
But we’d love it if you are able to bring some clean, good quality clothing to share! And of course, a reusable bag to take some home if you’d like!

Mens, Womens, Plus sizes, Juniors sizes, Kids sizes, and Babies sizes of all styles and seasons are welcome.
Shoes, Outerwear, & Accessories are also welcome!
No intimates besides casual pajamas. No housewares. No cosmetics or toiletry items.

If you are bringing items to share, please make sure they are in good, clean and usable condition. Items needing a quick repair, such as a missing button or a small tear along a seam are fine, as long as the repair is relatively simple. This of course excludes anything that might need to be altered or tailored to fit the new recipient.

Q.
What can I take?
A.
This is not a swap or trade. You may take whatever you think you, a family member or a friend would like or could use, regardless of whether you brought clothes to share. Guests are free to take home items from any and all categories/sizes.
[Although we do hope everyone will bring something to share, so we have a nice selection for everyone to choose from. However, it is not required.]
On our honor, by participating in this Clothes Sharing, we will all agree to take what we like and can use, and leave what we don’t and can’t for someone else. Additionally, we will all agree not to sell anything that we take home from this Clothes Sharing. If we decide we don’t like or can’t use something after all, please gift it, pass it on, donate it, upcycle it, make art with it, or in the worst case scenario – cut it up into rags for use around the house. But please, no selling. And please please, no throwing them away!

Q.
Can I volunteer? What can I do? And what would I get out of it?
A.
Yes! We’d love to have some sorters on hand, to begin sorting during the talk, so we have as much time to share as possible afterward. Volunteer perks include feeling purposeful in your community, more connected with the Planet, and having a better understanding of how we can all work together as one to create change. And possibly baked goods.

Q.
What happens to the left overs?
A.
Items that don’t find a new home at our Clothes Share will be donated in various ways, with priority given to individuals/families in need (so the sharing can be done in person) and local area charities.

Q.
Is this event just for women?
A.
This event is for anyone who wears clothes and is an adult. While we certainly won’t turn away a nursing mom with an infant, we do prefer that guests are adults, as it is simply not a kid-friendly event.
Each guest will need to reserve their space.

Additional Info

In regards to clothing selection, there is no way to know what will be available. It will depend on what guests bring to share.

Mens, Womens, Plus sizes, Juniors sizes, Kids sizes, and Babies sizes of all styles and seasons are welcome.
Shoes, Outerwear & Accessories are also welcome!
No intimates besides casual pajamas. No housewares. No cosmetics or toiletry items.
Guests are free to take home items from any and all categories/sizes.

If you are bringing items to share, please make sure they are in good, clean and usable condition. Items needing a quick repair, such as a missing button or a small tear along a seam are fine, as long as the repair is relatively simple. This of course excludes anything that might need to be altered or tailored to fit the new recipient.

There will be no space specified for trying things on. Plan to wear clothing that makes it easier to size things up, like leggings and a cami under your shirt.
