Jeffrey Lynott of the Neighborhood Notes wrote a great article about the sharing, borrowing, and swapping going on in the Portland area. Free tool libraries, free swaps, free garden produce exchanges, canning/preserving equipment, wedding dresses/supplies, and more. Even ways to ‘donate’ your ugly front yard to gardeners who will plant it full of veggies and fruits for you (and you get to help yourself!).
